ADWR Public Records

 
The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) manages the agency’s public records. Based on Arizona law, ADWR recognizes the public’s right to access public records. 
 
Many of ADWR’s records can be viewed or downloaded online. Please visit ADWR’s DocuShare page to access many of the department’s publicly accessible records. Records that are not available online can be requested by submitting a public records request to ADWR’s Communications Section.
 

How Can I Get A Public Record?

Imaged Records – The Department makes many of its records available to the public through DocuShare. Watch a short video on how to access records in DocuShare here.

Looking for GIS data? 

  • ADWR’s Open Data Portal allows the public to access ADWR spatial datasets and web applications.

Public Records Requests - Requests for records can be made online, by mail, or in person.

FAQ

Is there a fee for public records requests?
  • In some cases, public records requests incur fees because records must be scanned or retrieved from off-site locations. In the event that fees have been incurred, ADWR will provide the requester with an invoice detailing these fees.

How long does it take to process a public records request?
  • ADWR is dedicated to delivering public records as promptly and accurately as possible.   
  • Requests are processed in the order they are received. Response times vary depending on the size of the request, the location of the records being requested, and the number of requests being processed.  

 

How are records provided to me?
  • Requesters have the option of receiving records digitally, viewing them in person at ADWR, or receiving paper copies (fee associated).

 

I received a response to my request, but I believe I did not receive everything I requested.
  • If you received a response to your request, and you believe you are missing records, please contact the ADWR Records Coordinator at 602-771-8619. 
  • If you received a response to your request and would like additional records that were not requested in your original request, a separate request will need to be submitted. 

 

 

Requests for public records can be mailed to
ADWR at 1802 W Jackson St - Box #79 Phoenix, AZ 85007.
Please be sure to provide your contact information on the form.

Public Records Request forms can be dropped off or completed in person at
ADWR at 1110 W. Washington St #310, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
